What if I really want a puppy?

Please contact your local rescue group for names and numbers of local reputable breeders. Rescues average a puppy about every 2-3 months. If you can wait, this can be a rewarding and less expensive option. Send in your application and you'll be in line for the next available puppies. Also, rescue personnel will be happy to help you shop for the best food and products for a German Shepherd Dog's puppy years.

Elizabeth Riddle, our rescue president, outside of her full-time job and continuing educational pursuits, is an animal behaviorist and an obedience instructor, with a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Illinois with a specialty in Ethology (the study of animal behavior).
