Betsy is doing just great. She went through a series of obedience classes and walks on a leash now beautifully. She loves riding in the car. She definitely loves all people and rarely barks at anyone. So now that it is getting cooler, we'll try and take her [to the local dog park] at least twice a week. Most of the time at home she just likes to be near us. She still sleeps in her crate at night and often just goes in there during the day, but most of the time she lies on a rug near the door. We really love her a lot. She walks my speed, stops, and automatically sits when I need to rest. People in town always remark how well behaved she is.

A special thank you goes out to Betsy's sponsors: Eden Roy. Cheryl Smith in memory of Rommel and in honor of Big John. Lonny & Mary Hymes in honor of their loving Shepherd Bucky who has them wrapped around her paws! Rebecca Kuk in loving memory of her beloved Oscar the GSD. Steve Hitz in memory of Marah and Gretchen. Jeanette Andrews continued support of Betsy. John Stein. Knight, from one Shepherd to another. Michael and Sherry Eckert in memory of Ezekial and Lechariah. Kooper & Leiah in memory of Bridgett & Boner

Betsy
Adopted January 2006

This little girl was dumped by a man who backyard breeds and is well known in the area for his apathy towards the proper care of animals. He dumped Betsy and Rose without any explanation. They are both intact and currently in season. This means they are on lock down for several weeks until the vet can spay them safely. Betsy is 2-3 years old with heavy scarring to her teats (lots of babies). She is very outgoing and so far hasn't met anyone (since she's been away from her bad owner) that she doesn't like. She gives hugs and kisses and wags her tail constantly. She seeks a loving home where she will never have babies again and she will be the center of attention.
