Punk
(formerly Shamus) on right napping with my
10 year old
boy, G. They've become the best of buds.
Punk is also good buds with Gnarly. Dude
tolerates him.

Everything
is going quite well in our home with our
new
family
member.
Gnarly and Mr. Shamus are now buds. They
like to snooze on the couch
together as well as tease each other with
the various kongs and bones in our
house. Shamus and Dude respect each other
but aren't play buds yet. G.
reminds Shamus to keep his distance, and
Shamus does. Consequently, we're
pleased that everyone is working the details
out. Thanks again for your help, and for all
you do for the breed.

Adopted October 2005
Shamus (renamed Punk) was a mild-mannered, 1.5 year old, neutered, male German Shepherd Dog. Although he loved to play fetch, he wasn't a hyper young dog and never jumped on people, even when excited. He knew commands such as sit, shake, lay down, get in crate, and would drop a ball upon request.
Shamus was submissive with dominant dogs, but wasn't fearful or shy. He could not be in a home with cats (he liked them a little too much). Shamus played wonderfully with the 1 year old female dog in his foster home. (Wrestle mania all day long!). Shamus was also respectful of the 7 year old male and 12 year old female dog in his foster home.
Shamus took treats gently from a 2 year old human child and loved to sleep in bed with his humans. He responded well on leash, but tended to pull when excited, so, like any new dog, he would need obedience training.
Shamus was working on his potty training and was very ashamed when he had an accident in the house. He was starting to understand that eliminating outside in front of a person is okay (he apparently prefered a little privacy!).
Shamus was looking for a doting home, preferably with at least one human that would be with him most of the day. He was a sweet, loving, gentle, gorgeous boy.
