There are some really cute ones. Shania's Kong use to have 3 sections. She chewed the top off, so now when she's eaten all the goodies, it gets washed and goes up on the fridge where she can't get at it to destroy it. Same thing with her big round red ball with the cookie holes, and of course, tennis balls. The old dental kong I had is the only one she can't destroy--maybe it's atrophied or something!!!

Shania
Adopted January 7, 2006

Shania was a 6 year old, white, spayed, female German Shepherd Dog. Shania had a rough go of it. She was an owner give up at the age of two and came in to rescue small, skinny, and terrified. She was adopted to a single man's home and spoiled rotten for several years. Recently, Shania was brought back to rescue due to changes in her family's dynamics. She was overweight and had to lose several pounds. Her thyroid was not stable, and we had to work on that. She was on thyroid medication, which was very affordable, and was doing well. However, now she was considered a senior and homeless, which meant her adoptability had decreased a lot.

She didn't want to live her life in rescue and had lost her homes twice through no fault of her own. She didn't really like to share her home with other dogs, but was devoted to her owner with her entire heart. She was clean and sweet and would love to spend evenings going for walks and hanging out in the living room. She didn't like to be ignored or left alone for long periods in the backyard. She needed a loving human friend/playmate who wouldn't cast her aside, or ignore her.
