June 2004
[Zoe] loves to chase birds and squirrels outside. She stays in the yard. The only time she's ever on a leash is when we go to the vet or to Petco.

She gets along with our cat now (granted Shadow [the cat] gets irritated with Zoe every now and then but with no claws its hard to cause harm). Zoe has a tendency to pick Shadow up by the back of his neck when they're playing.

She plays in the house with her toys. She is so much of a puppy — not the same pup we got in April at all. She is so playful, lovable, fun. She has a lot of toys a few squeaky ones and some tennis balls - she picks them up tosses them around, fetches for them. She cleans up after playing with the toys too. She keeps all her toys in Daniel's room (7-year-old). You'll never see the toys laying around the house unless she's passed out from exhaustion or playing with them.

Zoe also helps remind Daniel to keep his room clean. If he leaves any of his toys laying on the floor she thinks that they are hers and chews on them. Therefore his room has been staying pretty clean. It's so funny because she's only like that with Daniel's room.

She has a big round bed in our room that she lays in a lot or it's Daniel's bed or floor in his room.

She has such a personality. We've taught her to sit, shake and come. She's not a barker — just outside if one of the neighbor dogs are barking. When she's outside and you open the door to let her in she takes off running because she doesn't want to come in. She is one of the family — we love her to pieces.

Zoe for the most part has figured out the entire yard is hers. She loves to be out there and after she's done she'll come right up our back stairs. She's had lots of visitors to welcome her to our family and she loves everyone of them. We still haven't heard her bark but she's learning to Sit when told and how to shake.

A special thank you goes out to Zoe and her pup's sponsors: Rebecca Kuk in loving memory of her beloved Oscar the GSD. Diane Walsh in honor of Mahina. Judy Hardin, in memory of Stella, a faithful companion and friend. Tammi Keenan in memory of her fur-child, Sadie. Diana Breakville, in honor of Shadow, a best friend and queen of the house. Adopted April 4, 2004

Zoe was the mommy of 4 Boxer/Shepherd mix babies . Their estimated date of birth was July 28th, 2003. Three were females and one was a male puppy. The babies were nice, clean and fat. Mommy had done a great job. Mommy had head to toe skin infections due most likely to the many fleas on her. She had no hair on her elbows and tail where she had large sores. The rest of her body had deep scratches, sores, and wounds from chewing and scratching. She hadn't had access to proper nutrition for a pregnant or nursing mommy and was extremely thin. She needed a lot of antibiotics, skin treatment, more flea treatment, and medicated baths for her sores. Despite these setbacks, she healed up nicely and found a loving home of her own.
