6 year old, white, spayed, female German Shepherd Dog. Shania has had a rough go of it. She was an owner give up at the age of two and came in to rescue small, skinny, and terrified. She was adopted to a single man's home and spoiled rotten for several years. Recently, Shania was brought back to rescue due to changes in her family's dynamics. She was overweight and had to lose several pounds. Her thyroid was not stable, and we had to work on that. She is on thyroid medication, which is very affordable, and is doing well. However, now she is considered a senior and homeless, which means her adoptability has decreased a lot.

She doesn't want to live her life in rescue and has lost her homes twice through no fault of her own. She doesn't really like to share her home with other dogs, but is devoted to her owner with her entire heart. She is clean and sweet and would love to spend evenings going for walks and hanging out in the living room. She doesn't like to be ignored or left alone for long periods in the backyard. She needs a loving human friend/ playmate who won't cast her aside, or ignore her. If you think you could provide the stable and loving home for the rest of her life, please fill out an application for Shania.

It only takes a $20 donation!
Remember, any of our dogs can have more than one sponsor!

Please fill out an Application if you are interested in adopting or would like more information about this dog. We receive a large number of emails asking if a particular home or situation is appropriate for a dog in our care. To evaluate this, we need you to fill out an application.

If you have questions about adoption fees and what the fees include, these questions will be answered in the Application information before you fill out any information about yourself. Applications will be responded to before any other inquiries.

We do thank you for considering adopting a dog through rescue and believe that by saving the life of a dog you show that you are a compassionate and caring person. Please remember that we are an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue that receives no government funding and functions on proceeds from our adoption fees and private donations. Please respect the time our volunteer's take away from their family to do rescue and fill out an application before contacting us.
